Week 7 blog

This week was definitely more emphasized on poems than any other subject. The face to face was great. We split up in teams and we created a poem together and each poem was a different kind. I really liked my poem that i made with my partner julia we both were from miami and we made one on miami. The subject was good because we both connected on that level. We stood up in front of class and read it out to the class. I thought it was clever but that was just me. We were introduced to blogging which i did not have any experience in. I tried my best to do the correct everything and i enjoyed the whole blog thing and thats why i chose it as the midterm assignment. The pictures i picked for my blogs are all from a cruise in alaska that i went with my family and i thought it was awesome and i wanted to share it with you. I would say journal and blogging is about the same. And i like both of them. I enjoy writing my thoughts down, this class got me to start a journal of my own. This class has opened me up and i am excited for the weeks to come. This class is definitely up there with the best classes i ever taken.

Week 6 Blog

This week started off with dramatic poetry, read some pages on it and watched the presentation before class. The week also consisted of 2 online classes which was different. Didnt really know what to expect, so i thought it was a like any normal online day and had all day to do it. So i was relaxed after having my chemistry 2 in the morning every monday. I went to Kostco with my roommates and stocked up on supplies. I come home around 3:15 and decided to check it out, i was freaking out because i noticed we need to be there during class becuase we needed to talk to each other on line. I worked as hard as i could to do everything needed. No breaks just straight work. I read both poems and answered the questions and responses from my peers. i ended up getting everything in on time but it really caught me by surprise. The terrorist video caught my attention the most, it had a viewpoint i never really thought of concretely. It really inspired me and taught me much that i did not know. I learned a lot during this class time and i felt great after i finished everything. The one poem that i loved was If you ever forget me. It got me thinking a lot and i really liked the metaphors he used the youtube video did a great job giving the video a lot of emotion. Made me think a lot. That Wednesday was not as exciting as the monday but we read some poems and talked about them in anything else cafe and i took a lot of the time redoing my paper 1 which was completely different than the first time doing it and i wich i could have prof read it a couple more times and worked on it more because i made it so i was pressured with time which was not a good idea.

Week 5 blog

Ahh yes my favorite subject poetry! It is definitely not my forte nor a knack i have the closest thing i have to do with poetry is listening to music. It is different and fun and makes the brain work in different ways. I was really good at the assignment due for Monday, which was sleeping! had the best dreams ever. This face to face we made poetry through the newspaper, was my favorite activity we ever did. I did my poem on the movie "9" which came out in theaters and i really enjoyed the movie so i had fun making a poem with it. The construction paper and tape and scissors just added to the excitement. Wednesday came a long like always and the work must go on! It started with listening to the same sonnet played by different preformers and seend at different time periods. After lisnteing to all that jazz we needed to write a poem of our own that had a similar theme to frank and Johnny. I was freaking out because i did not write a poem in god knows how long and it was very intimidating. I started by doing a bunch fo research as to what is neccesary to start out, i figured the rhyme sheme and let my words flow. It turned out to be okay in my opinion. I threw in some humor and i had fun wrting it i even shared it with my roommates and he liked it too. But when i read all the other poems posted in the forum i was blown out of the water with all their creativity. I made another draft of paper one because of my complete mess up with it all and finally did the draft correctly for once. It was a long week

Week 4 blog

Week 4 was definetly very eventful. It started at two in the reed building. And this time i was prepared for class and was feeling a lot confident. Learned about setting, read shilohs story part down and the square. All very intersting reads. Shiloh was enjoyed the most. The face to face started with texting a question for the whole class today, it made me nervous because i didnt want to look stupid by asking a dumb question, i couldn't really think that well under pressure but ifinally got a question out there on the projector. And my question was a fail because i said the name shiloh instead of the main character, definitely embarrassing. After this embarresing moment we had a journal entry time. I really liked it and i felt that it opened me up and got my thought out there, and what really made me happy was that the teacher gave feedback on the journal and we started emailing each other. The in class activity brought the class together and we all took a couple questions and answered them with out creativity and imagination. It was good bonding time. The Wednesday of the week came up and it was time for day2 in week 4. It had a bunch of youtube videos of smoke signals. It was interesting because i never really watched that show, but when i saw them i was really intrigued. The story telling was phenominal and i was thinking to myself that i would like to be able to tell stories like that. It was intersting to see a culture that i didnt really know about. After posting a comment on the anything else cafe i saw that we needed to make paper 1. It was intimidating. I chose to do it on my father becuase he is in the line of work i am pursueing. my story didnt come out well and it was slaking on a lot of aspects asked in the directions. I didnt like my paper one but i tried to rewrite it to fit the requirements. I definitely enjoyed it more the second time around but i didnt really get to capitalize on it which i regret doing. After getting a second chance. The whole tell it like a story threw it off and if i write something long without taking breaks i see myself start getting dull.

Week 3 Blog

Week 3 started strong with having no class on labor day! Although i looked forward to class on Wednesday. This time we watched a presentation on theme. I mean everyone knows the basics but it gave a more detailed out look and helped me understand it more. For the online class we read two short stories and they were short and sweet. "The Story of an hour" really got my mind flowing with ideas and what not. For the discussion forum we picked a couple questions and was asked to answer them. This assignment made me really read between the lines and use the imagination. It got me thinking and made me look at all the specific details of the story. I tried to break it down to the best of my ability. I ended up getting good feedback. I am always tempted to read everyone to see what there thoughts are and to get a feeling of who they are. It makes the class more enjoyable and really makes it so you get involved and yearning for more. Nothing really happened this week other than the online class though bummer that i only had one face to face class and it was week three.

Week 2 Blog

After the first week of this class i felt accomplished. I was excited to meet all the people that wrote the short stories from the first week at the face to face class. When i walked in i did not know what to expect. The teacher walks in with some candy and i thought to myself that this was going to be a good day. Since i was new in class i had to introduce myself and a something no one else has done. I chose beat boxing because it was one of my favorite hobbies, definitely started off with a bang in that class ha.Not really familiar with the way the syllabus works I definitely failed the first face to face class because i didn't think we needed to do anything for that day and i was completely unprepared. We needed to read a bunch and i didn't read a bit. When we split up to form groups i couldn't contribute at all and i felt like shit. I told myself that will never happen again. After the group work i left the class dissapointed in myself. Wednesday came a long and intro to literature is my only class on Wednesday so it was always easy to just sign on and see what i had to do. When i signed in i was blasted with all the things we had to do. I first took the time to learn about characterization and it was different listening to the teacher through the computer instead of in person its nice because you can always replay it or go back to something if you miss it. The best part about this week was definitely the "How to tell a true war story." I really enjoyed it and learned a lot from it. The story gave me more perspective on life. The story took a while to learn but it was interesting all the time. The assignment was to make a wordle about the story. This was the first time i was introduced to wordles. It was fun and it gave you new ideas once you put in all the words and create it. I had fun making it and i really like the fact that people can comment and you can see others as well. It was always fun to read other peoples work. I learn a lot this week especially about wordles and i will definitely use them out of class in the future.

Week 1 Blog

The first week was definitely a rough week for me. I just transferred classes on Wednesday and didn't have a good idea of what to expect. My first day was online and i pretty much took a crash course by myself with some help from the "anything else cafe". Although i jumped into it, i really enjoyed it. First time taking a course online. And plus it was half in class as well. I figured out i had to read some short stories and create one of my own. I had a lot of fun doing this task. Definitely made me use some creativity and gave me some confidence in writing. I wrote a short story which ended terrible and the couple ended up killing themselves. I had a lot of fun writing it and did not have much of a problem writing it either. Took me about 10-15 to come up with it. I definitely learned from the first week that this class is serious and you must do the work in order to get the credit and there is no messing around. You cannot just coast through, you need to put the effort and try your best
